Style After DarkSouth Melbourne Market’s Night MarketStyle After Dark is the very first night market in the 142 year old history of South Melbourne Market, running every Thursday in May from 5.30pm – 9.30pm Located along Cecil and Coventry Streets under the market’s wide verandahs, Style After Dark will provide an outlet for the vibrant local community of clothing designers. Stalls will emphasise locally-designed, locally-made, vintage and collectible clothing and all things associated with it – accessories, jewellery, and headwear, plus labels such as Betty and Hamish, Woot’ N Wright, Phillips, Fluxus, Shakuhachi, Arabella Ramsey and Concepcion knitwear by Linh Thai and Kronborg to name a few.Along Cecil Street, the market’s famous dim sims, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Japanese food plus a great selection of wines by Swords will be on offer.Style After Dark is being promoted to a younger funkier crowd than currently shops at the market. Live performances by She Said Yes, Mandy Kane, Croque Monsieur, Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnie’s and roving performances by John Paul Hussey will add to the atmosphere. The Melbourne School of Fashion is showcasing its latest creations in a series of fashion parades. Mayor Frank O’Connor said that the City of Port Phillip, which owns and runs the market, was delighted with the initiative. “This is the best news since the dim sim came to South Melbourne Market 60 years ago,” he said. “The market is the heart – and stomach – of South Melbourne. People simply love it and come from all over Melbourne to sample its wares and enjoy its warm atmosphere,” he said. “We’re hoping that Style After Dark will introduce a new, younger generation to South Melbourne’s Market’s fabulous food and fashion. If this trial is successful, the South Melbourne Night Market might become a regular event.”

Skin Rich will give Teachme TV a glamourous Launch!

Teachme TV is a hip new online television show. Skin Rich will be making up all the beautiful faces for the launch of this long anticipated online educational TVs. We are excited! Teachme TV will be running public workshops across Melbourne shopping centers. Part of the launch is a competition is called “Melbourne’s Host with the Most” and will allow the public (meaning you!) to do a piece on camera in our search for a 2009 co-host on Teachme TV.
